Re: XPX Florida Paintball Themepark  (United States)

I had an opportunity to play in the first XPX Scenario Event at the reopened field in Kissimmee now known as Xtreme Paintball Xperience “XPX"

Under new ownership, and changes quite a bit from the original setup. The owners have a new yet un heard of Game Director know as Cmdr Spinebuster.

The game called "Incurision" turned out to be one of the funnest events I have played in quite a long time. About 80 players completed at two teams with a third special forces team to keep the game interesting.

The game was kept simple and the missions were very easy to follow, although completing them was another story all together.

The Blue Team started out like a steamroller going down hill. Nothing seemed to stop their attacks. After a few failed missions the Red Team started getting their game hats on and begin playing the missions smarter, and the tide turned to the Blue Team becoming the defenders.

I was very impressed with Cmdr Spinebusters mission directing, he worked very well with the referees, and commanders. The game use run with no issues, and the players showed outstanding sportsmanship.

In the parking lot players mingles as though they were on the same team. It seemed like the old days when playing was for fun.

The owners did an outstanding job of getting the field ready for play. All over I saw new construction. Back where the old airport was, there is a city type build up of buildings.  The back berm near the old graveyard has been turned into a king of the hill structure that offers some great battles in the future.

Using portable bases much like those used at Blanding, they were able position the bases depending on the number of players that showed up.

The field of play was roughly 30 acres encompassing regular recreational fields, expanded scenario field & brand new city (Fuel for War) field.  Fuel for War will continue to expand and should be roughly doubled in size by the October Game.

Commanders were:

Red Team General(s) - Daniel Dennis (Monsters in the Morning, 104.1 FM), Kiel Fortner (Captain, Ragnarok SE Division)      -2425pts

Blue Team General - Charles Ellisor (Coach, Team Mercury)      -2475pts   *WINNERS*

I was supposed to tell you that the commander of the special Incursion Team got shot out on a push to sweep around the Red Teams right flank. I find it hard to write that part because I was the old guy that shot him. (I'll take luck over skill anytime.) I was shooting into the heavy brush at a pair of legs running to my left. Hear a player call hit. Not sure how those paintballs got thru the brush, but a kill is a kill. The best part was the player stopped by on his way off the field and told me it was a great shot.

I also had a chance to run the berm, and pick off a couple pesky Blue Team Players.

XPX is turning into one fine field. There will be I’m sure many future events there as they continue to build more and more structures.

Major-Out!! . Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting " . . Yippy Ki Ayyy . . .what a ride!"
