| Disaster Paintball (United States) |
|
|
|
Disaster Paintball is located at 1300 Poinciana Blvd. Kissimmee, Florida. Just North of the intersection of 17/92 South Orange Blossom Trail and Poinciana Blvd. Go to www.MapQuest.com for directions.
From Tampa: East on I-4 to 192 and head east 3 miles+/-. Turn right on Poinciana Blvd. Head south 3.5+/- miles. You will pass a few housing developments. THe field is on the right after you go over a small bridge.
XF spent today at the field and played with some of the friendliest standup players around. Met some new teams as well as some established teams. It was a great day and a lot of fun! The reffing staff, (Oceola Raiders), were outstanding! Always where they were needed and very professional. They really made the games fun. The field itself consisted of natural florida vegitation, oak, palmetto and palms.... snipers paridise :D Paths wide enough for tanks to travel during scenario games
Several wooden structures built, strategically placed around the property, which adjoins 2500 acres of prime hunting grounds. Not really sure of the exact size of the field but I think it is around 50 playable acres at this time. There is plenty of room for camping during 24 scenario games and is well kept. Plenty of gigantic oaks and shade  The air fill stations are setup for self service and work great! There were 2 stations.... 1 for 3000 and the other for 4500 fills. Never a line and always a good fill Field and air fees are $6 if you buy their paint which is very reasonably priced, or $16 if you use your own paint. Great deal any way you look at it! The owner Jeff, (Paintboss), really did a great job in providing an awesome day of paintball. The games were timed 30 minute games from attack and defend to elimination. Each game brought new adventures and awesome firefights! There were also sandbag bunkers set on top of hills along the river that were used often. Jeff is planning on adding additional structures and has quite a few other ideas to make this a real "Scenario Field". There is also airball fields set up as well. I can not really comment on them since I did not spend any time on them but they did look impressive! : This is a "must go to" field!! Well worth the drive!
Fun Factor = 8

This field will definately become one of the best scenario fields in the South! Just keep it real, & remember it's all about the players having fun!
I don't think that will ever become a problem there.
One thing I really liked about the field was the speed ball field was right up front with their own parking area etc. The regular rec players that wanted to play separate games had separate fields to play on & the seasoned, scenario guys met in the back and played on some good sized fields. Everything seemed well organized and operated smoothly.
Things out on the fields are still in the infancy stage, but the field staff is definitely working hard to build some well built, structures for future games.
It's right under Disney World, so it's centrally located. The directions off of a main interstate are very simple, so getting lost is impossible (unless you're Major that drives 20-30 miles looking for a dead end road "doh!")
Turn at the 7-11...that road dead ends practically into I4.
Thought I mentioned that, but if I slipped & left that out, sorry!

I would have to discribe this field as a perfect mixture between Rapid Fire from Venice and The Paintball Park that Kahuna owned in Fort Myers. There are lots of woods but not so thick that you can't walk through them. Yet there are open fields with natural and man made bunkers. The river side of the field was my favorite with the sand bag bunkers on the hills. The wooden structures were well built and placed for lots of different play. The field is in its infancy for a scenario field and will be fun to watch as it grows in playability and popularity.
